Master Man Manipulator as a lead

I know people who reached the top by using a simple technique of MAN MANUPULATION. Technique is based on a simple assumption Motivated Men Mints Maximum Money. MAN MANUPULATION was 100 percent success formula before the advent of technology age. Its not too tough to use it using technology. But hardly handful of people do posses required resources.

Lets get back to the tile What happens if MASTER MAN MANUPULATOR becomes a lead or acquires a top position in any organization. Lets start by the beginning of a corporate journey. If we are working alone we require -

to succeed. Frankly it was 2007 wherein i last worked alone & then was almost always in a lead position . There may be few new things which could add up to above 3. I know MAN MANUPULATION can be of a use while working without being a leader. I will not discuss it now. As its altogether different topic.

Now if you are closer to a lead position. Ideally you should be having a team to manage. For eg. in 2007 I was a Branch Manager and I had a team of 5-6 people to manage. As any active member on LinkedIn , I too was not happy with the title. I wanted to be a CEO. Now there were at least 5 levels for me to cross. Cluster Manager, Regional Manager, Regional Head, Zonal Manager, National Manager and there was a mesh of cross movements intermittently. Lot of organizations do not implement additional layer to filter out Man Manipulators.

While I was at an early stage say of Branch Manager, I know success would come if I ensure all members of a team do scale up adequately on above 3 parameters. & then there is a short cut which Man Manipulators use. I told you the technique already, its Motivated Men Mints Maximum Money. I need not tell you how.

Take a Lead

Check above 3 pillars of success. Its difficult to increase skill of a team. For knowledge you can provide information. There is a difference between information received and knowledge obtained. I will not get in to the intricacies of it. In short it is hard work which remains as a easy factor to focus on. I know few organization which focused on a hard work alone and could easily scale up to crores of rupees of profit until lockdown.

Now being active on Internet and because of Degrees you got you may think I am smart and I will do all 3 to get success out of a team. My story might be a guide for you. I have tried it in 2008. I got promoted as a Regional Training Manager. Its not because I focused little extra on imparting knowledge and developing skills. There I had a team which was highly skilled. Their experience was close to my age. I did honest job of providing necessary information.

A fresher out of college or someone who is not aware of training department might think its great. You got a regional title. Region is an illusion in training. Whether you are local, regional or national its all equal. Today in the era of online classes I need not explain it further. If I teach 1 person or 1 lac its all equal. People in training department do not get promoted for 5 to 10 years or may be longer. Chances of trainers becoming CEO is close to a zero.

Not all organizations are having lateral movements. Its about a mesh as I explained earlier.

Can focusing on skills and knowledge be smart ?

Yes, but it depends on a time you got. Because not every organization gives adequate resources & time to train people. As people are behind short cut to success, organizations are no different. I know few fortune 500 companies who actually offer adequate resources & time to managers to get things straight. If you are fortunate to be in these companies, choose a right mix of these 3 pillars.

I just could recall 1 more factor which actually could get me extra ordinary results in 2007. It literally increased customer inflow to an extent, it literally was close to killing me. I was forced to do a hard work from 8 am to 10 pm every single day. Its not something new. But because its a different topic I will not cover it now. In short these 3 pillars can be increased according to the situation.

What happens if MAN MANUPULATOR is promoted and becomes a lead - 1. He knows its a Hard Work which is a key to success. 2. He would ensure enough job for every employee to ensure their success & thus success of a team 3. He knows motivation works & thus would be motivating people 4. He would typically not focus on building knowledge and skills 5. He may eventually become a strict boss who believe in a hire & fire policy.

He may be successful for first few years. He may get average returns equal to growth in GDP. Because he do not focus on knowledge and skills of employees, he may not be able to get extraordinary results despite of a long tenure.

Why I call it man Manipulation and not motivation ?

Its simply because , people are by default motivated. If you are aware of any decent organization, imagine a new joiner. She would be by default motivated. Nothing is actually required to motivate people. I have motivated people by simply saying them good morning.

How do Man Manipulators manipulate ? Lets see the techniques of Men Manipulation one by one. 1. Greed: Greed is father of current 'Kalee' Yug. If you can distinguish between people of current age and of ages before, greed is probably the major differentiator. Greed makes people work harder. No surprise why famous carrot and stick model works despite every employee being aware of it. People put extra efforts for promotion and bonuses .

  1. Threat: It may be termed as a fear of loosing something. People who get job after a long wait typically are afraid of loosing the current one. Using Threat is a skill in itself. It should not be used in excess. I call it romancing with employees. Threat may result in employee searching for another job.
